How Rico Brunner works

What does Rico Brunner do when he works on your field? He doesn’t send energy and he doesn’t push anything in. He understands a place that isn’t functioning and makes this understanding available to your field. What your field does with it, it decides for itself.

How Rico Brunner works · Information, not energy

Rico doesn’t give your field strength. He gives it something to learn from, and your field only takes what suits it.

This is Rico’s description of what he has been observing in his work since 1998. It is not proof in the scientific sense.

A conversation between two energy fields

Rico describes remote energy work as a conversation in which each one stays with themselves. He looks at your field and tries to understand why it isn’t functioning in one place. While doing so, he stays calm in his own strength. Your field notices this calm and aligns itself with it.

Your field learns from this conversation, as Rico describes it, and can function better afterwards. No words are spoken. Rico makes this tangible with a scene he tells himself.

A young person is sitting on a train. In the next compartment, two adults who have experienced a lot are telling stories from their lives. He listens and thinks to himself:

“That’s how they did it. I find that quite interesting. I’ll remember that.”

Rico Brunner

Nobody in the next compartment gives an instruction. Nobody addresses the listener. He takes away what speaks to him and leaves the rest. Elsewhere Rico puts it even more precisely: the other person’s field had begun to “eavesdrop” on him. The process starts from your field, not from him.

This conversation has three stages.

1Being thereRico stays in his strength and looks. Your field aligns itself with this calm, just as you become calmer next to someone who is calm.
2Sorting itself outWhatever your field can sort out by its own strength, it now sorts out itself. Rico doesn’t intervene.
3InformationOnly where your field can’t get any further on its own does he make his insight available: why this place isn’t functioning.

Based on Masterclass 4-4g. The division into three stages is an aid to presentation.

What “information” means here

Not a message, not a thought you would have to hear, and not energy. What is meant is Rico’s understanding of how a place in your field would function. He looks at your field with this understanding, and your field begins to take it on.

“I don’t transfer it, I make it available, the information, and the energy field notices it and copies it.”

Rico Brunner

When he looks like this isn’t arbitrary. First Rico reads your field in such a way that it notices nothing. Only once he has understood where the problem lies does he look at the place consciously, with what he has worked out. How this unnoticed reading works is explained under How Rico finds and reads your field.

Your field doesn’t learn through the head. That is why Rico doesn’t have to explain anything to you, and you don’t have to understand what he does. He puts it drily:

“This information can’t be passed on to the energy field verbally, because the energy field doesn’t have a brain, after all.”

Rico Brunner

Your field only takes what suits it

In the model, information in the field isn’t distributed but drawn in. A part of your field notices that something is there, looks at it and takes on the principle, adapted to its own nature. What doesn’t suit it, it filters out.

Rico’s understanding is made available. Your field looks at it. What suits it, it takes on in its own way. What doesn’t suit it, it filters out. Nothing is pushed in.

How a field takes in information, according to the Energyology model. Schematic: the drawing shows a logic, not a sequence in time.

That is why nobody can build something into your field that doesn’t belong to you. And that is why your field never becomes a copy of Rico, but stays yours. Rico calls this inspiring:

“I inspire the energy field without steering it, without manipulating it.”

Rico Brunner

  • Your field decides. “The system decides for itself whether it wants the info.”
  • Your direction stays yours. “The energy field sets the direction, not me.”
  • A little, in the right place. “Less is more, but in the right place.”

Why Rico checks beforehand and keeps it small

Information can also be wrong. Rico describes the danger openly: you can give a field the wrong information in the wrong place. An overwhelmed field can’t check this and then begins to develop in the wrong place.

That is why he first plays through how your field would react. He calls this simulation, a kind of dry run in the field. Only when it is right does he work. How the four steps of a day fit together is explained under Four steps every day.

“That means I look at how the energy field would react if I work like this, if I work like that. That gives a sounding-out.”

Rico Brunner

Afterwards, Rico checks whether a piece of information was a good fit by four points. They come from his model.

Need

Analysis and simulation have shown that this information is needed in this place.

Uptake

Your field has really drawn it in and not just noticed it.

Function

Your field’s ability to function is preserved in the process.

Its own movement

Afterwards your field carries on working with its own strength.

If one of the points is missing, it was the wrong information or the wrong moment. Then Rico starts again. This is another reason why he works in small steps. He has learned to look at a field in such a way that he only sees the steps it can take at the moment.

Why calm is often needed first

A field that is under a lot of pressure is busy balancing. Rico describes such fields as overstimulated, restless, sometimes as if inflamed. In this state nothing gets through.

“Overstimulated energy fields can’t take in any information.”

Rico Brunner

That is why he often works in two places at once: on the causes and on helping your field become calmer. For him, calming doesn’t mean suppressing. It means working on a field with calm so that it can take things in again. How much pressure he takes away and why never all of it is explained in Pressure, strength and the leeway.

This applies in every situation. If someone is in a hard phase, their field often needs calm first before it can draw anything in. If someone wants to keep what they have achieved or would like to move forward, their field draws in the same kind of information, just in other places. There is more on this under Help, Stability, Development.

How Rico came to this

Rico used to send energy, as many do. When he stopped, at first he didn’t know how he should work. He could only read fields. So he took time to understand why they are stuck in one place. In doing so, he noticed that understanding alone already sets something off in the field. He repeated this many times to rule out coincidence.

For the first stage, being there, he has an image everyone knows: a fit of laughter. Anyone standing next to someone who can’t stop laughing laughs along. Nobody touches them, nobody tells a joke. What is set off is something that is already there in them.

“This strength that is set off isn’t a transfer, though, it’s a trigger that is set off in the person’s energy field.”

Rico Brunner

For this, Rico himself has to be centred in himself, every time he works. According to his observation, a field reacts to the state of whoever is looking. He has also learned that too much goodwill gets in the way:

“I noticed that when the motivation to help is too strong, you want too much, then you lose objectivity, then you’re too close to the client and so can’t actually help the client any more.”

Rico Brunner

Why no energy

According to Rico’s observation, a field that gets energy from outside gets used to it. It scales down its own production and becomes dependent. What a field learns by itself, on the other hand, stays with it.

“I don’t send energy, because I’m convinced that every person has enough strength of their own, and because I’ve observed that when energy is sent, the energy field gets used to the energy, stops producing its own energy, scales down production and is weakened as a result.”

Rico Brunner

If energy were sent

  • strength comes from outside and fills a gap
  • the field scales down its own production
  • once the outside strength is used up, it needs more

Making information available

  • no strength comes from outside
  • the field draws in what suits it
  • what it has learned belongs to it

Rico sums up the reason in one sentence: “An energy field can only process its own energy optimally.” For the same reason he works without manipulation. He doesn’t push your field in a direction he thinks is right, not even with good intentions.

“And that’s why one of the principles is: manipulating energy fields harms the energy field even if the manipulation is meant well.”

Rico Brunner

Why both matter so much to him, he explains in the How I work section under No foreign energy and No manipulation.

Where this is in the model

Rico has confirmed the core logic of his model like this: most of it happens through stability. Pressure is taken away, the field’s stability is stimulated, and where something is missing, information is added. On top of that come the abilities your field already has. Only rarely is the new information alone what makes the difference.

All of this is Rico’s description of his perception. The images of the next compartment and the fit of laughter help to imagine it. They are not proof.

Questions that come up often

Can Rico build something into my field that I don’t want?
According to his description, no. Your field only draws in what suits it and filters out the rest. Rico doesn’t steer it and doesn’t push it in any direction.
Do I have to understand what he does?
No. The information is addressed to your field, not to your head. You don’t have to read anything, practice anything or follow anything.
Does Rico lose strength when he works on many fields?
He doesn’t send any of his own energy. He says himself that otherwise he would run short of energy and in the long run would get problems in his own life. What he makes available is his understanding.
Is all foreign energy in my field a problem?
No. According to Rico, a small share belongs to every field; he speaks of 3 to 5 percent. A field can deal with that well. According to his observation, it only becomes difficult with much more.
Why don’t I feel anything if my field is taking something in?
Because a lot lies outside what you perceive. That is no sign that nothing is happening, and no sign of the opposite either. There is more on this under Why you don’t feel everything.
