Where are you?

Help, Stability, Development: three situations from which people come to remote energy work.

From what situation do people come to remote energy work? From very different ones. Rico Brunner distinguishes three: Help, Stability and Development. They don’t say who you are, but where a part of your field stands at the moment.

Where are you? · three situations

Every part of your field is in one of three situations. As a whole, hardly anyone is in only one.

The work is the same everywhere. What it does in one place depends on where that place stands.

Three situations, explained with the weather

Rico explains the three situations with the weather. The question is the same every time: in what weather does this part of your field hold up?

Help: this part holds up in fine weather. Stability: it holds up in rain, wind and storms too. Development: it is “weatherproof”.

The three situations in the weather image, according to Rico Brunner’s description. Schematic: the situations are states of a part, not steps you climb within a set time.

In the first situation, a part only holds up in fine weather, sometimes not even then. In the second, it also holds up in rain, in strong wind and in storms. In the third, Rico calls it “weatherproof”: it reacts quickly and with foresight, the development is there “before it is necessary”.

Why people come or staybecause something no longer worksbecause they want to stay stablebecause they want to move forward

Based on Rico’s description and the Energyology model. “What Rico works on there” in our own words.

Most people come in the first situation, when something no longer works. That is a good time to start. But it isn’t the only one.

You are not in just one situation

A person rarely stands entirely in one place. Someone can be far along at work and have little ground under them at home right now, or the other way round. Rico gives an example himself: in private life in Help, in the relationship in Stability, at work in Development.

“We humans have a great many layers.”

Rico’s example: in private life in Help, in the relationship in Stability, at work in Development. For every person the points lie differently.

One person, three situations at once. Schematic, based on the template in the model of remote energy work.

That is why remote energy work is also different for every person, even though Rico always proceeds in the same way. He puts it like this:

“basically it’s a different remote energy work for every person, because every person has help areas, stability areas and development areas inside them.”

Rico Brunner

How the whole feels is not the average of the parts. A single area that is decisive for your life can carry so much weight that everything feels like the first situation, even if a lot else holds up well. Conversely, a single place can be strongly felt while the rest of your field holds up well.

For the work, this means: where an important part of your field still needs support, Rico works there first. A field can only develop further on ground that carries it.

Help: when something no longer works

You may know this time. Something no longer works, even though you are making an effort. You are going round in circles, have many questions and few answers. There are days when it works, and others when nothing works.

This isn’t failure. According to Rico’s observation, it is a field that is carrying more than it can carry at the moment. An event came too suddenly, a pressure lasted too long. Then the field can no longer find its way back on its own, and it protects itself. You feel this protection, for example as rigidity, withdrawal or being overwhelmed.

Many people in this situation do a great deal and notice that it achieves little. According to Rico, this isn’t due to a lack of will.

“It’s the inability that causes the drive to be missing to put things into practice, not the will.”

Rico Brunner

In this situation, Rico works above all on what holds your field together. Gently and in small steps, because an overwhelmed field can’t handle any additional load. At the beginning he often takes away more pressure than later on, so that work on the causes becomes possible at all, and this is exactly where it goes slowly, because according to Rico every change first costs a field strength.

On days when a lot is coming your way, you can choose a Daily Focus. Then Rico pays more attention to the pressure in your field that day. If you have health complaints, you see a doctor; that always applies. What to do if you feel worse is on the page When things get harder.

Stability: when things work again

Things are running again. You have ground under your feet. And then a difficult day comes, a conflict, something unexpected, and suddenly it wobbles. The field carries everyday life, but not yet every pressure.

Whether a part holds up in this situation, Rico checks with three questions, which he puts like this himself.

  1. Does it hold itself? Can the part keep itself stable with the energy it has?
  2. Can it live its function?Does it do what it is there for, without anyone having to help it along?
  3. Does it balance out the unexpected? After a pressure nobody expected, does it find its way back by its own strength?

In this situation Rico works on the firmness of the field: that it holds together under pressure, finds its way back after pressure and reacts earlier, before it is overwhelmed. Setting boundaries should then be a property of the field and not an effort.

Rico observes that many people stop right here, at the first breath of relief. Some fall back later and start again. That is his observation, not a rule for you and not a minimum duration. The decision stays with you.

“At some point they fall back again, because they aren’t stable enough, and then they start again and carry on. Not from the beginning, but you then have to carry on working again.”

Rico Brunner

Development: when you want to move forward

You are doing well. You hold your ground, even when life puts on pressure. For many people that is the goal. For the field it is a beginning. According to Rico, an energy field never stops developing, unlike the body, which at some point is fully grown. Its carrying capacity grows naturally, as long as nothing hinders it. There is more on this under What Rico reads in your field.

Rico compares remote energy work in this situation to a coach. A coach helps someone who isn’t sporty. But a coach also helps a top athlete who isn’t injured and still wants to get better, because the coach sees exactly what is still holding her back.

“Field is suitable if you want to become stronger, if you want to become more stable, if you want to develop. … But it’s also suitable if you’re stable but would like to move forward.”

Rico Brunner

Here Rico sees places in the field that aren’t injured but have never been challenged. He works there, with foresight and without pressure. In this situation he only looks for what hinders development and makes sure the conditions for it are right.

There is no fixed plan for where it is going. Rico calls this a dynamic development. Each step makes a next one possible that you couldn’t see at the beginning.

“A dynamic development actually means I have no plan of where it’s going. I only know what the next steps are.”

Rico Brunner

How this shows is different for every person. Rico names paths people in this situation want to take: becoming more resilient, reacting earlier, letting go, trusting themselves more and being the way they are. He also names a limit. A predisposition can’t be changed, any more than a fish can become a bird.

In this situation there are times when you notice a lot, and times when seemingly nothing is happening. Both are part of it. Rico then often works on parts that are only just forming, and that shows with a delay.

What the three situations are not

The three situations aren’t a staircase you climb within a set time. They are states of individual parts, and these parts don’t move in step. That is why Rico doesn’t say how long someone stays in a situation.

The situations are not

  • a judgment of you as a person
  • a ranking in which the third situation is better
  • a schedule with fixed steps
  • something you need to know before you order

The situations are

  • a description of where a part of your field stands
  • different for each part
  • the reason why Rico works in some places first
  • visible in the field, not in how you feel on a given day

That is also why remote energy work doesn’t come in three versions. Rico thought the idea through and asked two questions: how is someone supposed to know where they stand? And who wants to be afraid of having booked the wrong one? He sees in the field where each part stands.

“Nobody is only in the help area, nobody is only in the development area.”

Rico Brunner

How far you go is up to you

Each situation has its own focus. None is better than the other, and nobody has to get to the third. Rico puts it like this: nobody has to work on themselves. Someone who does it when they are doing well can take their time. Someone who waits until something no longer works has to do it under pressure.

Someone who is doing well decides freely whether they want to continue to be accompanied. Rico again describes this with the weather:

“When you then get even further into development, Field is a tailwind you have. And then you can decide: do I want this tailwind, or do I want to carry on without a tailwind?”

Questions that come up often

Do I need to know which situation I’m in before I order?
No. There is one remote energy work for all three situations. Rico sees in your field where each part stands and works accordingly. If you want to know more precisely, an energy field analysis describes the most important points.
Why does everything feel like the first situation for me?
That may be because an area that is decisive for you is carrying little at the moment. It then shapes the whole, even if other parts hold up well. What exactly is the case for you, this page can’t say.
How long do people stay in a situation?
Rico doesn’t predict that. It depends on how long something has existed, how intertwined it is and what pace your field sets. There is more on this under Why your field sets the pace and Duration, pause and ending.
Is remote energy work only for people going through a hard phase?
No. It is meant for all three situations, including people who are stable and want to move forward. Whether it is right for you is explained under Is remote energy work right for you?

Where to go next

How you can tell whether your field already holds on its own is explained under Duration, pause and ending. Why stability in the field arises from the interplay is explained in How a field becomes stable. How you can observe in everyday life what shows up is described under Observing instead of feeling.
