Why I work on the causes
Why don’t I start where you feel it most clearly? What you feel are mostly symptoms, that is, the effects of a cause, and they rarely show the place where something arises. I work on the causes in your energy field. For me, this is one of the most important points of my work.
How I work · working on the causes
I work where something arises, not where it shows.
I take what you feel seriously. I look for the cause in your energy field, because it cannot be recognized from the inside.
Symptoms show where it hurts
If an iron falls on your foot, you feel the pain in your foot. It is so strong that the iron almost drops out of view. If it falls on your foot again every morning, at some point you only talk about the foot.
What interests me is why the iron falls and how it can come about that it no longer falls on your foot. Symptoms show where it hurts. They don’t show where the cause of it lies.
“because you only ever notice where it hurts and not why it hurts”
Rico Brunner
That is why most people talk about what shows in their everyday life, and hardly about what lies behind it. That is not a mistake. It is the side you see from the inside. But from there, you cannot tell where in the energy field something sits.
The consequences
What you feel and experience. Only you can say where it bothers you. The consequences often show up in a completely different place from where they arise.
The causes
Where it arises in the energy field. They can’t be felt. I read them in the energy field and start exactly there.
What a cause is
The strength of your energy field has a size, and the pressure that comes from outside has one too. If the pressure is greater than the inner strength, injuries and overload arise in the energy field. This also explains why the same event hits one person hard and the other hardly at all.
“It is actually like mathematics, you could say.”
Rico Brunner
This is a calculation and not a judgment about you. Anyone who is overloaded in one place is carrying more pressure there at the moment than their energy field can carry in that place. In another place, the same energy field can carry much more. The pressure also spreads through the whole energy field, which is why I always look at the whole.
A cause does not have to be big. In the energy field, a small disturbance often only becomes a problem through how long it lasts. For a long time, nobody notices it.
Two people can have the same symptom and completely different causes. That is why comparing yourself with others rarely helps.
Why a lot of effort doesn’t always help
I often meet people who work on themselves a great deal. They set a lot in motion and they develop. And yet the actual issue remains. They start at the place where it shows, not at the place where it arises. Their effort is real; only the place is not right.
That is why I first read where in the energy field something arises, and work exactly there, even if you feel it in a completely different place, which happens often.
Why I don’t work on the blockage
“The most important thing in the energy field is that it can block.”
Rico Brunner
A blockage is first of all a protection. With it, the energy field stops something that would otherwise keep running. That is why I don’t dissolve blockages. I support the energy field where the cause lies.
A blockage is like a car’s skid marks. You see the marks, but not the reason for the sudden braking. Once the reason is gone, the skid marks disappear on their own, and blockages, too, then begin to break down by themselves.
That is why there is nothing wrong about your condition either. What you are experiencing is what your energy field is protecting itself with at the moment, even if you don’t feel comfortable with it.
The symptom carousel
Anyone who goes after the symptoms easily ends up in what I call the symptom carousel: one symptom goes, and another takes its place. Something is happening all the time, you have the feeling of doing a lot, and in the end nothing changes after all, because the cause remains. You go round in circles. What is taken away without the cause changing often simply finds another way.
There is also a second danger. Energy is where attention is. If you direct all your attention to what you feel, you give it energy, and it can become stronger as a result.
What you notice of it
The causes mostly lie in the large part of your energy field that you don’t perceive yourself. Some people still notice something right away, others only later. If you notice nothing, that does not mean nothing is happening. More about this under How you experience the work.
Some causes lie far back, sometimes as far as childhood. I work first on the place that has the strongest effect on your whole energy field. That is not always the deepest one. How long the work takes cannot be planned. For some it goes one way, for others another.
As a rule, I only work on the causes. But if there is too much pressure on the whole, no change can take place. Then I first take away some pressure, so that your energy field can work at all.
I never work only on the pressure. If I always just took away pressure and left the causes as they are, the course would look like this:
- The pressure drops first. This can often be felt quickly.
- It doesn’t last. When the work stops, the pressure is soon back, because nothing has changed at its source.
- The cause keeps working. It keeps generating new pressure.
- The overload grows. The pressure from the causes builds up.
- It can no longer be regulated. At some point it is no longer enough to take away pressure.
That is why I only take away as much pressure as your energy field needs to be able to work, and no more. If I take away too much, it gets into a conflict between compensating and developing. How much it may be, I weigh up anew for every energy field.
If you want to know what I am working on right now
If someone asks me about it, I describe the place in the energy field where I am starting and what it has to do with their everyday life. For example, why someone keeps holding back in one area even though they stand up for themselves well in others. I also write that they may not notice anything of it yet, because I am working on the cause.
Whether things are hard right now or going well
If a lot is hard right now, there is often so much pressure on the whole that I first take some of it away. That is a step to make the work on the causes possible, not a goal in itself.
If things are going well and you want to keep it that way, one thing is good to know: a small disturbance goes unnoticed for a long time and often only becomes a problem through how long it lasts.
If you want to develop further and already work on yourself a lot, your effort is real. I then look at whether the place where it starts is the right one.
What this applies to
What I describe here applies to work on the energy field. Whatever concerns your body belongs in a doctor’s hands first, and that is not my area.
Questions that come up often
- Why don’t you work on what I feel?
- Because what you feel is mostly the consequence. It doesn’t show where the cause lies. I work where it arises in the energy field.
- Do I have to know what my cause is?
- No. It cannot be recognized from the inside, not even with a lot of attention. I read it in the energy field.
- Why does something new keep coming up?
- A few causes can give rise to many symptoms, and they take turns. As long as the cause remains, the carousel keeps turning.
- Do you work on my blockages?
- No. A blockage is a protection. I work where the cause lies. When the energy field no longer needs the protection, it begins to break down the blockage itself.
- How long does the work on the causes take?
- That cannot be planned. For some it goes one way, for others another.
- Does this replace a visit to the doctor?
- No. Whatever concerns your body belongs in a doctor’s hands. My work is for the energy field, and the body is not my area.
Where to go next
How I follow the energy field in this, instead of setting it a goal, is described next under Working process-oriented. How long the work on the causes takes depends on where you stand on your development journey. Why I don’t need to know what your problem is is described under Reading the energy field. What else I consider important, I tell under How I work.
How your concern and my analysis come together in The Field (remote energy work) is described under Two paths that don’t cross. How pressure and strength interact in the Daily Focus is described under Pressure, strength and the leeway.
